Afori at DKM 2025: AI that understands brokers

DKM is the most important industry gathering in the finance and insurance sector. For two days, the industry meets in Dortmund: brokers, pools, service providers, and insurers. For us at Afori, it was a milestone as our official launch, and we are very happy with how the days went: our stand was extremely well visited throughout, brokers actively sought us out, and the conversations with brokers and partners were insightful and focused.

AI in brokers' day-to-day work: from vision to real relief

In numerous conversations, it became clear: brokers are looking for concrete, practical AI solutions that integrate seamlessly into existing processes and quickly create genuine added value. The mood was clear: the topic of Artificial Intelligence has arrived in the insurance sector. However, what occupies many brokers is not the question of whether AI should be used, but how it can be sensibly integrated into daily work. The demand for concrete use cases is enormous, and awareness of the practical benefit is growing noticeably. AI should not be abstract or experimental, but helpful, understandable, and secure.

Taking concerns seriously

Despite the growing openness towards AI, the biggest hurdles also became clear. Many brokers shared their experiences and concerns about introducing new AI tools with us:

  • Lack of interfaces to existing broker management systems

  • Time-consuming implementation and training for new software

  • Loss of control when AI makes decisions independently

  • Uncertainty regarding data protection and data processing

These responses confirm exactly what was important to us at Afori from the very beginning: AI must not feel like a foreign body in daily office life. It must work where it is needed and adapt to existing processes, not the other way around.

"For us, these concerns were addressed from the very beginning because we develop our AI solution in close cooperation with selected brokers. Data protection, integrations into existing BMS, and AI as a supporter, not a replacement, are a matter of course for us," says Fabian Wesemann, Founder & Managing Director of Afori.

"Relaxed through the flood of emails": presentation by Fabian Wesemann at DKM

A highlight of our trade fair appearance was the presentation by Fabian Wesemann on the topic of "Relaxed through the flood of emails in the brokerage". The presentation struck a chord: almost every broker knows the daily challenge of managing the inbox and not missing any important tasks.

Fabian made it clear that AI is not intended to replace the broker, but to support them. With Afori, we are developing a solution that is specifically designed to reduce back-office work, thereby creating more time for what matters most: client advice and growing the book of business.

Experiencing Afori live: over 200 brokers at the stand

We were particularly pleased with the great interest shown at our stand. We were able to present the Afori sidebar live to over 200 brokers, and the direct feedback was thoroughly positive. Many visitors were surprised by how easily Afori can be integrated into their existing working environment.

A decisive advantage: Afori works directly in Outlook as a practical sidebar that fits seamlessly into the existing email workflow. This allows the broker to remain in their familiar environment while Afori helps in the background to analyse emails, identify tasks, and structure them intelligently.

Voices from the trade fair stand:

"The integration directly into Outlook is great; finally, I don't have to jump between tools."

"For the large volume of daily emails, there has been no good support that really works until now. Afori's task classification could change that, especially as email communication with insurers and clients takes up an enormous amount of time."

"An interface to my BMS is a must for me. It's great that Afori already has connections here and is constantly integrating new BMS."

This feedback shows us that we are on the right track with our product strategy. Interfaces, data protection, and simple integration are not "extras", but the foundation for making AI work in the brokerage.

Close to the market: Afori develops its solution in close cooperation with brokers

DKM has shown once again how important direct exchange with brokers is. We received a lot of valuable input, which we are now gradually incorporating into the further development of Afori. Because our standard is clear: we do not develop past the market, we develop with the market.

Our mission remains to make everyday broker life easier. We believe that AI unfolds its greatest benefit when it relieves humans, not replaces them.

Conclusion: DKM as confirmation of our mission

DKM 2025 was a complete success for us and an important confirmation:
The need for practice-oriented, trustworthy AI solutions in the insurance sector is greater than ever. With Afori, we want to close exactly this gap and help brokers go relaxed through their daily office routine.

We would like to thank all visitors who stopped by our stand, asked questions, shared ideas, and gave honest feedback. We look forward to incorporating these impulses into our development in the coming months and reshaping the future of the brokerage together with the industry.
